Software Engineer
Hybrid work expected, with an average of 2 days per week from the HPE office.
Job DescriptionThe Engineering role spans multiple disciplines. Design, implement, optimize, troubleshoot, and sustain enterprise Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions for HPE Aruba Networking’s portfolio. Requires broad knowledge of wireless technologies, RF design principles, networking protocols, and engineering methodologies to deliver secure, scalable, high‑performance wireless solutions across customer and internal environments.
LocationOnsite in Roseville, California.
Key Responsibilities- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software.
- Analyze design and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on project objectives and overall architecture.
- Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation; identify, debug, and create solutions for issues with code and integration.
- Collaborate and communicate with management, internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Represent the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less‑experienced staff members.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience developing software for networking switches/routers.
- Proficiency with software systems design tools and languages.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience designing software systems for multiple platform types.
- Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Campus or data‑center switching knowledge is a plus.
- Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA)
- Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) or in progress
- Entry‑level or associate wireless certifications such as CWNA or equivalent
