Network Software Engineer

This role is hybrid, with an expectation of working an average of two days per week from an HPE office in Roseville, California.

• Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyze design and determine coding, programming, and integration activities required based on overall architecture of the product or solution.
• Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portions of the application; identify, debug, and create solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
• Collaborate and communicate with management, internal teams, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Represent the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less‑experienced staff members.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience developing software for networking switches/routers.

• Use software systems design tools and languages.
• Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Design software systems running on multiple platform types.
• Apply software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Campus or data‑center switching knowledge is a plus.

• Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA)
• Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) (or in progress)
• Entry‑level or associate wireless certifications such as CWNA or equivalent

The expected salary/wage range for this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.

- United States of America:
Annual Salary USD 136,500 – 276,500 in California. The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered.
