Firmware Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a group of firmware engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Participate in the design and development of secure boot and security firmware.
• Serve as a member of the firmware team in architecture and design reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software problems in embedded real‑time systems.
• Generate comprehensive engineering documentation.

• BS/MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of embedded system development and verification experience.
• Strong C, C++ and Python programming skills and product development experience.
• Strong background in software methodology and full‑cycle development (design, implementation, testing, and debugging).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the computer storage industry, especially with PCIe/NVMe protocols.

• ARM architecture knowledge.
• Knowledge of Rust and memory‑safe programming.
• Knowledge of Caliptra Open‑Source Root‑of‑Trust technologies.
• Familiarity with hardware & software co‑verification/emulation platforms such as Cadence Palladium and Protium, bus/logic analyzers and PCIe exercisers.
• Source code management (Git, Perforce, etc.).
• Agile Scrum development methodology.
• Dev Ops and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Secure Development Life Cycle and methodology.
• JIRA project management software.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
• Familiarity with Linux environment (device drivers, shell scripting, etc.).

Annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the U.S., is $91,000 - $232,000. The range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
