Job Description Position Summary
The Collision Center Parts Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of parts procurement and inventory for collision repair operations. This role ensures the timely ordering, receiving, and distribution of parts to support efficient vehicle repairs while maintaining accurate records, controlling costs, and coordinating closely with technicians, estimators, vendors, and insurance partners.
Key Responsibilities- Order all parts required for collision repair jobs based on repair estimates and supplements
- Verify accuracy of parts orders (OEM, aftermarket, recycled) to ensure correct fit and quality
- Track parts deliveries and follow up on backorders or delayed shipments
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts; verify quantities and condition upon arrival
- Label, stage, and organize parts by repair order to support efficient workflow
- Communicate parts status updates to estimators, technicians, and management
- Process parts returns, credits, and warranties in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and documentation in the dealership management system (DMS)
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and insurance companies as needed
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer standards, and insurance guidelines
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe parts storage area
- Support cycle counts and inventory audits as required
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience in automotive parts, collision repair, or dealership operations preferred
- Knowledge of OEM and aftermarket collision parts is a plus
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, etc.) preferred
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid driver’s license (if required for parts pickup or delivery)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and automotive chemicals
