Description of responsibilities:
- Market substance use presentations to schools, community and faith-based organizations located in communities served by CARE of SEM.
- Coordinate and/or assist with agency summer camp (s).
- Coordinates and oversees paper people facilitation and coordinates casual staff schedules.
- Provide support to CARE's Community Organizers, and other staff as needed.
- Ensures assigned paperwork is completed and maintained in accordance with funding source standards and CARE of SEM policy and procedures.
- Demonstrates full comprehension of management by objective (MBO) plan and meets quality programmatic standards.
- Completes activities associated with assigned MBO hours in a timely fashion and complete total assigned MBO hours.
- Provide presentations on general substance use issues and CARE of SEM’s services as needed.
- Facilitate educational classes/groups related to programming as needed.
- Reports data and outcomes as required.
- Disseminate substance use information at health and public fairs, school open houses and other community events as requested.
- Establish and maintain liaison relationships with appropriate agencies regarding substance use prevention.
- Attends assigned meetings as required.
- Ability to adjust hours of work based on the community needs, including some evening and weekends.
- Knowledgeable of national and local substance use and prevention statistics and demonstrates the ability to apply current trends to service delivery.
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and/or child development, guidance/school counseling, counseling psychology, education, public health, human services, or criminal justice.
- Must be certified as a Prevention Consultant or Prevention Specialist (CPC-R or CPS) or must have a registered development plan and be timely in its implementation.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license.
