Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our Entry‑Level Transportation Creative Studio Planners help to bring ideas to life. Collaborating closely with project managers and Senior Creative Studio Planners, they apply graphic design and visual storytelling to make transportation projects more understandable. If you are passionate about transportation and enjoy transforming complex topics and analysis into inspiring visuals, we want to hear from you. This position is available at either our Roseville or Sacramento location, so let us know your preference when applying.

Transportation analysis is complex, and clients and communities may not be experts in the technical aspects. Our Creative Studio group, with over 20 visual designers, collaborates with senior staff to find the best ways to deliver this information to the audience. We work on materials that engage the public and assist clients in making informed decisions.

Our diverse and collaborative team consists of graphic designers, UI/UX designers, coders, data scientists, GIS professionals, planners, and landscape architects—all bound by a shared passion for transportation. We’re always eager to connect with creative designers interested in joining us to improve transportation communication.

Responsibilities
  • Transform complex transportation analysis into intuitive visuals for a broad range of applications, including data visualization, maps, final reports, presentations, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with project managers to determine the best way to deliver information.
  • Support the development of creative work products for projects and competitive marketing pursuits.
  • Collaborate with company‑wide Creative Studio Planners to share and implement best practices in visual design and workflow.
  • Maintain knowledge of design trends and inspiration; continually inject new ideas into our work.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation, urban and regional planning, or a related major (e.g., geography, landscape architecture, economics).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Excellent visual and written communication skills, with an emphasis on distilling complex information into relatable stories.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to collaboration, and a creative approach to problem‑solving.
  • Portfolio demonstrating visual design capabilities.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Passion for learning new industry standards and cutting‑edge software programs.
  • Internship or professional experience in the A/E/C or other consulting industry, urban planning, urban design, transportation planning, or the aptitude to pick it up quickly.
  • Experience with 3D visualization, data visualization, illustration, UI/UX design, web design, and/or coding.
  • General business marketing coursework or experience.
Benefit Highlights
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance.
  • 401(k) Plan with matching and profit sharing.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts.
  • Commuter Benefits.
  • Paid Vacation, holidays and sick leave.
