This position is located at the Waters’ Edge Building in Roseville and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

The purpose of this position is to provide managerial direction and engineering leadership for the Federal Aid section within the Metro Office of State Aid. This role serves as a key resource in guiding metro‑wide funding policies in coordination with the Metropolitan Council. It establishes operating policies that direct staff and clients in preparing plans, reports, specifications, and estimates that meet State and Federal standards.
Additionally, as a member of the District State Aid Engineers Group, this position contributes to statewide policy discussions that affect local governments.
- Licensure as a professional engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity. (If obtaining licensure through reciprocity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
- Three years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent that demonstrates:
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of State Aid rules and Federal Aid regulations sufficient to assist local agencies in administration of their Federal Aid program.
- Experience supervising or serving as a lead worker, including providing oversight and work direction and evaluating staff.
- Experience working collaboratively with local agencies to execute engineering projects.
