Accountable for processing and managing Accounts Payable, supporting the general finance area, and producing financial reports for MINNCOR Management in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities- Process and manage Accounts Payable transactions using enterprise accounting systems.
- Prepare invoices, oversee payment processing, and ensure timely vendor disbursements.
- Compile financial reports and analysis for management review.
- Reconcile accounts and participate in month‑end/year‑end close activities.
- Conduct audit and compliance reviews of expenditures and internal controls.
- Provide general support to the finance department as needed.
- Knowledge of GAAP sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information and recommend solutions to procedural issues.
- Experience with SWIFT, Epicor, or similar enterprise accounting systems for querying, compiling records, and processing invoice payments.
- Knowledge of an accounts payable system or process sufficient to prepare invoices for payment.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets to create and manipulate reports and data.
- Mathematics skills to calculate, review, and reconcile data and balance accounts.
- Ability to design, interpret, and explain work procedures and operations and advise on fiscal policies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and vendors.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and high accuracy in working with numbers and recordkeeping.
- Ability to read and write a variety of materials in English.
- Advanced degree in Business, Accounting or a related field.
- Experience processing Accounts Payable for a large agency or organization (150+ vendors).
- Experience compiling and reviewing monthly reports for outstanding invoice follow‑up.
- Experience with month‑end/year‑end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Time‑management, problem‑solving, and multi‑tasking abilities.
- Experience implementing internal audits and reviews of expenditures, capital purchases, and credit card purchases.
The selected finalist must review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position and may be required to complete a tuberculosis screening prior to hire.
Additional Requirements- Background screening for criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations, and related information per Department of Corrections policy.
- Pass a criminal history check including all sentencing and restitution requirements.
- Employment and reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment and job performance and discipline records, as required.
- Fingerprinting within the first 30 days of employment.
