Overview
Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is seeking a Full‑Time Infection Control and Prevention Specialist to support our Waverly Gardens and Langton Shores communities. This role requires a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to monitor and advise on infection control measures established through organizational policy and procedures in coordination with the PHS Clinical teams.
The position is scheduled for 3 days per week at Langton Shores and 2 days per week at Waverly Gardens; scheduled days and hours may vary based on business needs.
Reporting Structure: The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist reports to the Clinical Administrator.
Location: Waverly Gardens – 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks, MN 55127. Langton Shores – (address omitted).

The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist is responsible for implementing the infection prevention and control program and education. The Specialist coordinates, delivers, and maintains efficient and effective infection prevention and control programs. They conduct infection control research and act as a consultant to other departments to ensure compliance with evidence‑based infection control standards. The Specialist provides clinical education to employees to deliver service excellence and reduce the risk of infectious disease transmission.
Qualifications- Must be a licensed nurse in the state in which they practice.
- 2+ years of healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control or ability to obtain immediately after hire.
- Knowledge in the field of infectious disease and epidemiology.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for long‑term care.
- Demonstrated ability to write and implement policies and procedures; experience with technology and IT‑based instruction.
- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR certification.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; adaptability, flexibility, and creativity; ability to communicate with a variety of people.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate with all customers.
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS’s mission and operating philosophies.
- Demonstrates competency in teaching and applying adult education.
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $31.82 - $39.77 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends on many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
