About the Job

The Customer & Regulatory Specialist is responsible for managing customer quality requests and ensuring that complete, accurate information is provided in a timely manner. This role requires advanced, specialized knowledge of U.S. FDA food regulations, FDA guidance documents, 21 CFR Part 117, and other applicable standards to support the execution of regulatory strategies. Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of Quality Systems are essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide customers with requested documentation through internal systems and customer portals.
    • Maintain the Hawkins Trace Gains Gather site to provide updated information to customers.
    • Coordinate requests from Quality mailbox. Ensure requests are processed in a timely manner.
    • Track customer requests and follow-up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain corporate statements, including regular review and creation of new statements.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to prepare and approve statements that meet customer or regulatory needs.
  • Manage Kosher and Halal Programs to maintain Certifications for Hawkins facilities.
  • Maintain expertise in regulatory requirements and emerging compliance risks impacting Hawkins's product assortment.
  • Provide regulatory guidance for new products, license renewal and registrations.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and assist with the development and improvement of the quality management system.
  • Stay current with changing regulatory requirements and lead necessary updates to policies, procedures, systems, and practices across the organization to maintain compliance.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs or related field.
  • Minimum five years experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, USDA, etc.)
  • Minimum two years experience working in a customer-facing role.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI principles, and familiarity with Titles 7, 9, and 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Ability to communicate well with all disciplines and levels at facilities and corporate.
  • Experience with change control, document control, product and process lifecycle development, and training
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Problem solving, trouble shooting, time management and organization skills.

Expected Compensation:

$70,000-$80,000/Yr. + 5% bonus eligibility
