Quality Engineer – Customer Complaints responsible for managing the customer complaint and corrective action process, ensuring products meet high standards and comply with ISO 9001 and internal QMS procedures.
Primary ObjectiveOwn the end‑to‑end complaint and CAPA lifecycle, from receipt to final closure, ensuring timely investigation, containment, resolution, and continuous improvement.
Duties- Manage the full lifecycle of customer complaints and CAPA activities.
- Lead and document comprehensive root cause investigations for multiple concurrent projects.
- Apply risk‑based thinking to evaluate severity and impact of quality issues.
- Oversee segregation and production holds of nonconforming outputs.
- Use product identification and traceability to define scope and impact of deviations.
- Develop written technical responses for customers and provide verbal updates to stakeholders.
- Implement corrective actions and perform formal verification.
- Analyze data trends, support management reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as key contributor during internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
- Maintain controlled documented information for all complaints and CAPA activities.
- 2+ years in a similar complaint‑management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Quality preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or related standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IATF 16949).
- Experience performing root cause analysis, interpreting engineering drawings/specifications, and managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
- U.S. citizenship or Green Card holder.
- Must be local to the MN area (no relocation).
- Experience with Epicor or comparable manufacturing ERP systems.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
- Advanced quality tools experience (change management, document control, PPAPs, calibration management, internal auditing).
- Engineering drawing interpretation skills.
