Your RoleAs a Quality Engineer – Metrology, you will support new product development using industrial computed tomography (CT) scanning for non‑destructive testing (NDT), dimensional metrology, and failure analysis on new components and finished assemblies.
Responsibilities- CT Scan Operation & Optimization
- Operate high‑resolution industrial CT scanning systems safely and efficiently.
- Determine optimal scan parameters based on material density, geometry, and required resolution.
- Design and fabricate custom low‑density fixtures for complex prototype parts.
- Metrology & Data Analysis
- Perform full 3D inspections and compare CT volume data against nominal CAD models.
- Evaluate complex geometric features using GD&T principles.
- Create comprehensive, visually intuitive metrology and inspection reports.
- New Product Development Support
- Conduct non‑destructive root‑cause analysis on failed prototypes.
- Partner with R&D engineers early in the design cycle to advise on X‑ray inspectability.
- Maintenance, Quality, & Safety
- Act as Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform routine calibration, system checks, and preventative maintenance on X‑ray systems.
- Support ISO, ASI, and other certifications as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Technical degree with a minimum of 3 years in quality industry or 5+ years of metrology experience in lieu of a degree.
- 1+ year of hands‑on experience operating industrial X‑ray or CT scanning equipment.
- Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced NPD environment.
- Exposure to ISO 9001:2015 and 13485:2016.
- Experience with data and statistical analysis software.
- Strong communication skills.
- ASNT Level II or III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) or Computed Tomography (CT).
- Experience with CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, NX) for fixture design and model extraction.
- Previous experience as a Radiation Safety Officer.
Less than 10% locally.

- Pay Range: $88,000 – $108,000 per year (Minnesota).
