Position Summary
Leads, develops, and coaches store teams through training, feedback, and store tours while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, train, and actively listen to store associates while touring and providing feedback on store operations.
- Communicate and collaborate with all associate levels regarding technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introduce and lead change initiatives, providing clear expectations and guidance for implementing business solutions.
- Model exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) service model and manage customer service initiatives, including community outreach programs.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues, develop action plans to correct deficiencies, and lead process improvements for a high‑quality experience.
- Drive the financial performance of the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implement plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Hire, train, mentor, and assign duties to hourly associates; set clear expectations, provide recognition, and promote a culture of belonging.
- Coordinate job‑related activities, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, and support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
- Communicate goals and objectives, build accountability, measure progress, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards; support the Open Door Policy and provide guidance on business processes.
- Build high‑performing, inclusive teams, embrace diversity, and create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
- Attract, retain, and develop the best talent while recognizing contributions and fostering growth.
- Act with integrity, promote Walmart values, and support sustainability and community impact initiatives.
- Serve customers and members by delivering results, making data‑driven decisions, and applying EDLP and EDLC business models.
- 2 years of college education; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities selling only ammunition, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Completion of required job‑specific trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy and Open Door training).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U or Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
