Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep
Overview
Store - MSP-ROSEVILLE, MN. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.
Responsibilities- Event Coordination:
Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events. - Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity; demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
- Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks (answering emails, making phone calls, completing paperwork) as needed; adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans; ensure client satisfaction.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions; provide fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Engage customers on rewards programs and private label credit cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey; assist with Omni-channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes; complete merchandise recovery and maintenance; perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned; support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute company policies and standards.
- Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; promote a positive image and be a role model for other team members.
- Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production; participate in daily store cleanliness activities (e.g., sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom upkeep).
- As assigned by management to support store operations.
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality with the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages and co-workers.
- Excellent people skills and experience working with children and children’s events.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and nonverbal) and listening abilities; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Retail and/or customer service experience.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods; move throughout the store; regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

- Public retail store setting; climate-controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or during unloading.
- Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press; work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
Total Base Pay Range for this Position: $13.00 - $15.30 per hour. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with state and local laws.
