We're looking for a Counter Sales Associate to join our team in a role that balances high‑energy customer interaction with meaningful operational support. If you enjoy solving problems and building relationships in a dynamic, industrial environment, we want to meet you!
A Counter Sales Associate will partner with our customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. You will serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to successfully complete their projects. By demonstrating equipment use and sharing insights on product quality, you help our customers pioneer new solutions in their own work.
Responsibilities- Adhere to company policies, including safety and PPE use.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external partners.
- Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their tasks; demonstrate equipment use to build confidence.
- Manage order entry and process transactions; assist the team with deposit reconciliation.
- Coordinate via phone, e‑mail, and in person to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
- Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support branch growth.
- Coordinate transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere with supportive communication.
- Stock shelves and maintain welcoming showroom displays.
- Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (we value equivalent education and life experience).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
- Attention to detail in handling transactions.
- Availability for occasional overtime.
- Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.
- Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset.
- Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office Applications.
- Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with people from different backgrounds.
