Mobile Vehicle Technician – RAC SMR Division

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. In this role you will provide planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members in their driveway or workplace car park.

Full‑time 40 hours per week. Core hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and you will work one Saturday every four weeks.

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs that you would normally perform in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Minimum two years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six points

Competitive base salary of £40,178 with on‑target earnings of up to £52,000 through bonuses and premium‑rate overtime. Guaranteed overtime option available from the first month, with extra rest days at £30 per hour.
