Role SummaryAs a Senior Fund Accountant you will be taking ownership of accounting quality, financial reporting, and technical accuracy across a portfolio of Swedish entities. This role acts as the key reviewer and quality gatekeeper, ensuring all deliverables are prepared in line with Swedish GAAP and meet the highest standards. You will lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, oversee statutory reporting, and manage audit engagements while resolving complex accounting matters.
As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical guidance, review the work of junior accountants, and drive continuous improvement across processes, controls, and reporting standards, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and best practice application throughout.
- Own end‑to‑end accounting quality and delivery across assigned clients and entities.
- Review and approve GL, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure all reporting complies with Swedish GAAP standards.
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
- Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and annual financial statements.
- Act as the final reviewer and ensure accuracy across all reporting outputs.
- Resolve complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance.
- Manage audits, including liaison with external auditors.
- Mentor and review junior team members, acting as a key escalation point.
- Drive continuous improvements across processes, controls, and documentation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- A few years in financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong expertise in Swedish GAAP (K3) is required.
- Experience with group accounting / consolidated financial statements (koncernredovisning) is highly desirable.
- IFRS knowledge is a plus, not a requirement.
- Strong experience with year‑end close, statutory reporting, and audit processes.
- Proven experience in reviewing and quality assuring accounting work.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in accounting related software such as fortnox & capego.
