Controller Position
We are working with a client in the Roswell/Alpharetta (30076) area that has a need for an experienced Controller. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction or manufacturing industries and have excellent management skills. The main focus of this role is to provide management with financial information and analysis.
Desired Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience at the Controller level
- Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
- CPA is a plus
- Experience in an environment with progressive levels of responsibility
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Proficiency with Excel and MS Office Suite
- ERP accounting system experience required
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in stressful situations
- Understand and enforce accounting control procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
Major Functional Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Control and allocate costs
- Schedule and organize the monthly close process
- Review and analyze monthly financial statements, account summaries, and reports for multiple divisions
- Review and prepare quarterly schedules for multiple divisions
- Manage and fulfill external audit requests as needed
- Prepare training documents and provide training sessions to staff accountants
- Assist with implementation of consistent formats and process for journal entries and financial reporting across divisions
- Review and Consolidate Balance Sheet Reconciliations for multiple divisions
- Review Weekly deal analysis and backlog margin reports
- Review and approve journal entries, allocations, accruals, and financial reports for multiple divisions
- Review Weekly Sales Report for multiple divisions
- Allocate payroll and indirect costs
- Coordinate with Outside Property Tax Consultant
- Supervise staff accountants and accounting personnel
The company offers an excellent compensation package that includes competitive base salary plus bonus and a solid benefits package. Compensation range is $95-120K.
