School Clerk

Position Title

School Clerk, Thomas Crossroads Elementary School, $16.41 per hour

• Greet visitors courteously and determine their needs, directing or escorting them to the appropriate person.
• Receive and route incoming calls, answer callers’ questions, and take messages for staff members.
• Assist in preparing reports and produce written materials, such as type copies, rough drafts, or detailed instructions.
• Open and distribute mail.
• Operate copy machine, computer equipment, and fax machine.
• Maintain files and comply with any reasonable oral or written directive of the school principal or other appropriate school staff.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Minimum high school diploma, appropriate clerical and business training or experience.

• Word processing and spreadsheet skills.
• Knowledge of a variety of office equipment and procedures.
• Practical knowledge of business English, general vocabulary, spelling, and modern office practices.
• Ability to maintain clerical and confidential records.
• Sound interpersonal skills to meet and deal with the general public, peers and supervisors effectively and tactfully.
• Willingness to expand knowledge and skills.
• Ability to perform other reasonable duties as assigned by Principal or Administrator.

Two (2) years of acceptable clerical experience preferred.
