The Clarke County Health Department is seeking a Clerk to support the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program

This position provides administrative support to ensure efficient clinic operations and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working one‑on‑one with clients in a fast‑paced public health environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Greet clients and visitors and provide excellent customer service.
  • Answer telephones and respond to client inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain confidential client information and accurately enter data into computer systems in accordance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) WIC Program policies and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain accurate client records.
  • File and maintain records in accordance with program and agency requirements.
  • Assist clients one‑on‑one by explaining program requirements and completing necessary documentation.
  • Collect, review, and process required paperwork with a high level of accuracy.
  • Utilize basic math skills to perform program‑related calculations and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Maintain detailed filing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Provide courteous assistance to WIC participants by explaining program procedures and assisting with required forms and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of general office or administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a healthcare or public health setting.
  • Experience providing customer service in a clinical environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
