What You'll Do- Follow the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
- Plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children, including improving their readiness for school by developing literacy, phonemic, print, and numeracy awareness, understanding and use of language, increasingly complex vocabulary, appreciation of books, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment, including maintaining the required adult‑child ratio and proper supervision of children at all times.
- Support the social and emotional development of children using “positive guidance” approaches to handle challenging behaviors.
- Interact with children in an appropriate and supportive manner.
- Encourage the involvement of families in a Head Start program and support the development of relationships between children and their families.
- Work effectively with other teacher(s) in the assigned classroom and center.
- Follow all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other aspects of center operations.
- Ensure adherence to the assigned schedule by reporting to work on time and communicating proactively with the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist in the event of any changes.
- Participate in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
This position pays $15.92 per hour.
