Job Summary

An ATS Controls Technician performs start‑up functions on selected systems based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents, provides analysis of building control system performance at an individual building level, ensures documentation is accurate and complete, and provides project‑engineering support as required.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Control program use, including trend logs, zones, alarms, reports, backup, graphics, and minor modifications
  • DDC code modifications
  • Checkout of DDC (Direct Digital Control) components
  • Start‑up of Building Control Systems
  • Commissioning of Building Control Systems
  • Record and update drawings
  • Execute field changes/directives
  • Troubleshoot component and equipment problems
  • Training for owners and peers
  • Assist Project Engineer with field tasks/coordination
  • Panel construction
  • Field documentation (as‑built drawings, check‑out sheets, UL panel tags)
  • Manage time to complete assignments on time and within budget
Skills And Abilities
  • Proven troubleshooting skills
  • Computer hardware and software skills
  • Knowledge of DDC control theory and applications
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Excellent interactive skills
  • Solid communication skills
Position Type And Hours
  • Full‑time, non‑exempt
  • Typical Monday–Friday working hours with flexibility as needed
  • Local travel required
Credentials And Experience
  • AA degree in applied technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer programming experience
  • Building mechanical system experience
  • Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits
  • Mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting experience
