What You Will Do

Under general direction, act as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner. Perform or delegate tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.

Responsible for overall financial results of assigned projects, including costs, project billings, and collections. Maintain customer satisfaction, profitability, and accurate project financial results. Actively pursue selling change orders. Coordinate communication with the customer during all phases of the project. Ensure proper execution of warranty.

Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers and administration as necessary. Ensure compliance with the Authority having jurisdiction and applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.

Adhere to and enforce Johnson Controls staff and subcontractor safety standards. Organize the field organization into markets and regions. Manage local office communication and support of customers across the SSNA portfolio.

How You Will Do It

Ensure installation hardware design and software programming using established standards. Communicate design and operation to customers, Johnson Controls staff, and subcontractors. Actively pursue additional work through change orders and evaluate contractual scope of work.

Manage selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedule of materials using our web-based tool process. Secure pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors, including scope, terms, and conditions. Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.

Provide job site coordination for panel and field device physical locations. Ensure installations meet Johnson Controls standards and project requirements. Manage and complete loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers. Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors.

Manage costs, billings, and collections. Complete project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client. Maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow through best business practices. Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to system technicians, electrical installers, and system designers.

Effectively communicate project status to management and provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin. Send warranty letters to JCI customers upon substantial completion. Develop project plans and coordinate resources for timely and cost-effective installation.

Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system. Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Attend job progression meetings as required. Coordinate with project engineers on bundled jobs to deliver cost-efficient solutions. Follow all safety standards and uphold highest regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

What We Look For

For LSS I: Minimum of a technical associate’s degree with two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related field experience. Must have applicable access control, fire, video, and/or systems design and commissioning experience. Must have appropriate licensing, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience. Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently. Strong personal computer skills. Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting preferred.

For LSS II: All of the above with a minimum of a technical associate’s degree with four years of field experience or six years of equivalent related field experience in the industry.

Compensation

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,000 - $93,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). This role offers a competitive bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance.
