Job SummaryWe are seeking a Bridge Engineer to join TYLin's Bridge Sector. As a Bridge Engineer, you will leverage your experience with bridge projects to assist our growing Georgia practice and support the design and delivery of various transportation projects from conceptual planning, through design, construction, and completion. The role of a Bridge Engineer is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project.
You will lead the design of assigned projects to ensure reliability, resource efficiency, quality deliverables and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform conventional and complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations.
- Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans.
- Prepare geometric / bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
- Familiarity with AASHTO and GDOT design and standards.
- Perform as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-sized projects and supervise and mentor junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
- Review and/or check design calculations, estimates and specifications produced by junior engineers and EIT's.
- Familiarity with developing models in Bentley three-dimensional space and Experience working with BIM software platform Open Bridge Modeler.
- Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.
- Strong technical and communication skills with a commitment to quality.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on bridges or structures from an ABET Accredited University, Masters preferred.
- A minimum of 4-years of bridge design and analysis experience.
- Proficient with bridge analysis and design software programs such as Larsa 4D, Leap Bridge Enterprise, CSI Bridge, SAP 2000, FB Multipier, Revit
- Microsoft Office software and Micro Station CAD required.
- Bridge inspection and Load Rating experience is a plus.
- Georgia PE license, or the ability to obtain one within six months is required.
- GDOT Precertifications preferred.
- Strong communication skills, excellence in verbal and written and presentation skills.
