A leading global infrastructure and construction company
, within its Construction Business Line, is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to support its expanding portfolio of complex infrastructure projects.

The selected candidate will play a critical leadership role in overseeing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, safety, quality, and environmental objectives. Working closely with executive leadership and multidisciplinary teams, the Project Director will drive project performance, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful outcomes in a dynamic, performance-driven environment.

This person will be responsible for the successful delivery of a project within time, cost, safety, quality and environmental constraints requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring compliance with time, cost, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Provide hands‑on, day‑to‑day project management to the project team during both the tender and delivery phases.
  • Full accountability for the approved project budget, including monitoring, control, and reporting.
  • Establish and lead the site team, ensuring effective management across design, construction, commercial, financial, administrative, safety, quality, environmental, and communication functions.
  • Define, implement, and maintain site operational procedures covering design and construction, commercial and financial management, administration, safety, quality, environmental management, and communications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, both internally to the Management Board and externally to the Client, in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Proactively identify project issues and risks and prepare viable solutions and mitigation strategies.
  • Track and report project progress through the definition and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform trend analysis to anticipate potential deviations in schedule, cost, or performance.
  • Lead and manage risk management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company standards.
  • Ensure the timely receipt and integration of design deliverables from consultants.
  • Liaise with, manage, and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring performance aligns with project objectives.
  • Ensure all subcontracts comply with company´s operational and technical requirements.
  • Provide clear direction, leadership, and support to project staff and subcontract partners.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with the Client, ensuring effective communication at all stages of the project.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project budget, schedule, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Establish and implement operational, technical, commercial, financial, and administrative controls across the project.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the heavy civil construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, including direct accountability for schedule, cost, safety, and quality performance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, commercial, finance, and project controls functions.
  • Strong experience working within Design‑Build and/or Public‑Private Partnership (P3) delivery models.
  • Experience managing joint venture or consortium environments, including stakeholder coordination and governance structures.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, risk allocation, and commercial management in major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience interfacing with public agencies, clients, and regulatory authorities is highly preferred.
