Job SummaryThis actuarial modeling role focuses on pricing, reserving, forecasting, embedded values, and capital calculations for Aflac Re Bermuda Ltd. The incumbent ensures model accuracy, customizes reports, and recommends enhancements to improve efficiency and governance.
Key Responsibilities- Code, parametrize, and utilize actuarial models for pricing, reserving, experience studies, business planning, and capital planning.
- Analyze model outputs for reasonability and generate reports for senior management.
- Make adjustments and improvements to models using judgment and experience.
- Collaborate with product development, finance, compliance, and foreign teams to meet deadlines.
- Automate processes, streamline workflows, and enhance internal controls.
- Lead model validation, audit‑ready documentation, and change management.
- Communicate findings clearly to managers, executives, and external parties.
- Perform ALM stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Provide ad‑hoc reports for internal and external customers.
- Support Aflac Inc. or affiliates as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Proficiency in coding models using Excel, SQL, MG‑Alfa, Prophet, or AXIS.
- Strong familiarity with model governance, best practices, and independent validation frameworks.
- Extensive expertise in reserve and capital methodology under market‑consistent regimes.
- Understanding of reinsurance principles.
- Ability to adhere to Aflac and Aflac Re policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- A FSA designation from the SOA (required) with minimum 5 years of actuarial experience, or an ASA designation (required) with minimum 8 years of experience.
- Candidate or qualified for Aflac Actuarial Development Program (ASA and recent FSA).
- Hands‑on modeling experience in ALM or capital modeling.
- Experience with Bermuda (re) insurance regulatory frameworks or other market‑consistent jurisdictions.
- Experience with economic capital modeling, stress testing, and cash‑flow testing in solvency assessments.
Less than or equal to 10%.
Total RewardsBase salary range $110,000 to $140,000. In addition to base salary, benefits include health, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, HSA/FSA, 401(k) with company match, annual bonuses, stock purchase plan, 11 paid holidays, up to 20 days PTO, and eligible state‑mandated leaves.
