The Role:

As the Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for C&S Chemicals. This position works closely with the VP of FP&A and other stakeholders to develop financial insights, evaluate business performance, and identify improvement opportunities. The Business Analyst will sit in a hands-on analytics role and is perfect for someone who is fluent in SQL and Power BI, enjoys wrangling data into shape, and gets satisfaction from seeing their analysis drive a decision rather than sit in a slide deck:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that give stakeholders a reliable, self-serve view of key metrics.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, and aggregate data from multiple source systems.
• Use Power Query (M) to clean, transform, and model data into consistent, analysis-ready datasets.
• Partner with business teams to understand their questions, define the right metrics, and translate ambiguous requests into clear analytical requirements.
• Analyze trends, surface anomalies, and turn findings into concrete, prioritized recommendations that drive business decisions.
• Present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences in plain language, with visuals that make the "so what" obvious.
• Establish and document data definitions, report logic, and metric standards, so numbers stay consistent across the organization.
• Monitor the accuracy and reliability of reports and proactively investigate discrepancies.

Who You Are:

• 2–3 years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or similar analytics role.
• Strong hands-on skills in Power BI (data modeling, DAX measures, report and dashboard design).
• Proficiency writing SQL (joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions) against relational databases.
• Experience with Power Query / M for data cleaning and transformation.
• A demonstrated ability to move from data to decision.
• Strong attention to detail and a habit of validating your own numbers.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, economics, statistics, computer science, finance, accounting, or similar), or equivalent practical experience.
