The Role
We are looking for a senior hands‑on specialist to design, implement, and operationalize fraud detection, fraud prevention, and investigation capabilities across our brokerage and digital asset environment. You will work across client authentication, session security, trading activity, back-office operations, crypto treasury/custody workflows, and privileged internal actions. The role requires someone who can independently move from problem discovery to telemetry design, detection logic, workflow automation, preventive controls, and investigation playbooks.
Reporting Line - Chief Information Security Officer. Worksite :
Remote/ Hybrid/ On-site (options vary by location)
- Design, implement, and tune fraud detection controls across authentication, trading, crypto, and admin workflows (e.g., account takeover, session abuse, high-risk account changes), and deploy preventive measures like step‑up authentication, velocity checks, and risk‑based friction.
- Conduct end‑to‑end investigations using logs, SIEM, and data warehouse tools to reconstruct incident timelines, document findings for compliance/legal/regulatory review, and convert recurring patterns into playbooks and engineering requirements.
- Define telemetry requirements, identify gaps in audit logging and event schemas, and partner with engineering teams to ensure fraud‑relevant data is accurately captured and correlated.
- Write advanced SQL/analytical pipelines, build fraud detection models and scoring systems, and monitor precision, recall, and model drift to ensure ongoing effectiveness and explainability.
- Analyze trading platform workflows for exploitable weaknesses, detect abuse patterns (e.g., restriction bypass, coordinated activity), and collaborate on remediation designs.
- Review and strengthen controls around crypto treasury/custody operations, detect wallet and approval workflow abuse, and support governance and transaction authorization processes.
- Build alerting/triage workflows, define severity and routing criteria, maintain KRIs and dashboards, and drive post‑incident improvements to strengthen controls and telemetry.
- 5+ years of experience in antifraud, fraud detection, security investigations, abuse prevention, or adjacent roles in fintech, brokerage, payments, crypto, or other high‑risk online environments.
- Strong understanding of authentication, session management, access control, MFA, and common account takeover techniques.
