Vice President, Human Resources

Wellstar Health System (WHS) seeks a dynamic, driven HR professional to serve as its next Vice President, Human Resources (VPHR) for North Fulton Hospital. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a hospital on the rise—advancing its people strategy, elevating its culture, and ensuring the organization is equipped for transformational growth. The Vice President, Human Resources, will play a pivotal role in taking North Fulton Hospital to the next level and strengthening Wellstar’s mission of delivering world‑class, people‑centered care.

Wellstar Health System has grown tremendously over the last several years and is one of the largest and most integrated not‑for‑profit health systems in Georgia, with 11 hospitals, nine emergency departments, nine cancer centers, and more than 300 medical office locations. WHS is frequently recognized for its commitment to providing world‑class healthcare and excellent patient service.

North Fulton Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center, a Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center, and a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center, serving Roswell and the broader North Fulton region. It is one of Roswell’s largest employers and an anchor of the region’s fast‑growing healthcare ecosystem. The hospital is performing well on current quality metrics and is poised to grow significantly under its ambitious strategic vision.

North Fulton Hospital is undergoing a strategic and cultural revitalization. The HR function is in turnaround mode, with key roles currently filled by interim staff. A newer assembled executive leadership team, including a CEO at five months, a new CMO, and a COO at ten months, needs a trusted HR partner capable of bringing stability, structure, and forward momentum. The next VPHR’s ability to shape culture, develop leaders, optimize workforce structures, and strengthen engagement will directly fuel North Fulton’s aspiration to become a comprehensive community hospital and surgical destination.

North Fulton Hospital is on a trajectory of ambitious growth and market expansion, with a focus on trauma, stroke, obstetrics, and cardiology. The VPHR will play a pivotal role in taking North Fulton Hospital to the next level and strengthening Wellstar’s mission of delivering world‑class, people‑centered care.

The ideal candidate will be a high‑energy, forward‑thinking HR leader with strong business acumen and a record of accomplishment in complex, competitive environments. They should have deep expertise in employee relations, organizational development, and workforce engagement. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidate must obtain SHRM–SCP or SPHR within 6 months of hire.
