Job Description:

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within assigned departments to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are achieved. This role provides leadership and direction to supervisors and employees, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. The Superintendent works closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and maintain a positive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations within assigned areas.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and team members.
  • Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and regulations are followed and promote a culture of safety.
  • Monitor production schedules and staffing levels to meet customer demands and operational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Analyze production metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, HR, and Supply Chain departments to resolve operational challenges.
  • Conduct regular department meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and company updates.
  • Manage labor utilization, overtime, attendance, and employee performance.
  • Participate in employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Assist with budgeting, resource planning, and cost control initiatives.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including supervision of multiple departments or shifts.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems/ERP software.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership and team development.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Conflict resolution and employee relations management.
  • Data analysis and performance metric interpretation.
  • Process improvement and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Work Environment

Manufacturing production facility. Regular interaction with employees, supervisors, managers, and support departments. May require flexibility in schedule to support multiple shifts and business needs.
