Requisition:
Must be willing and able to work some weekends and other non‑traditional hours.
Travel: Some travel is required for this position.
Responsibilities- Under limited supervision, manage programs, staff, clinical services, and fiscal processes of a local public health department; identify community partners, providers, and agencies and develop relationships to further public health efforts.
- Supervise, guide, and/or instruct work assignments to subordinate staff.
- Be responsible for quality assurance activities in the department.
- Oversee laboratory processes.
- Coordinate coverage of nurses during public health emergencies.
- Coordinate outreach events.
- Have knowledge of vaccine schedules for children and adults.
- Administer appropriate vaccines to children and adults.
- Provide school‑attendance vaccines with correct certifications.
- Conduct audits for schools and daycares.
- Conduct scoliosis screenings for schools.
- Conduct hearing, vision, and dental screenings required for school attendance.
- Cross‑train to TB, child health, family planning, and IDC clinics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire; or two (2) years of experience as a PH Registered Nurse Supervisor (HCP
193) or equivalent. - Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
- Preferred: superior interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under established clinic protocols.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including effective communication with clients.
- Self‑directed, able to complete tasks without detailed supervision.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience vaccinating all age groups.
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
