Job Summary:

The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe patient care.

• Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to provide individualized care.
• Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics (age, gender, disease, etc.) and cultural diversity.
• Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned teaching) to keep them updated and keep their goals the focus of care.
• Practice using current clinical practice standards and comply with the Georgia Professional Nursing Practice Act, the Scope of Practice, and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

• Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation, and a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration while acting as a fiscally responsible member of the healthcare team and supporting recruitment and retention.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, research, and shared governance at all system levels.

• Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory and population‑specific education.
• Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and students to build a qualified future workforce and model professional nursing practice.

• Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research and performance improvement, including value analysis for patient care products.
• Uphold all system, organizational, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals).
• Participate in data collection, pose relevant clinical questions, consult experts, and use appropriate evidence to address practice questions.

• Proactively plan for the continuum of patient care while providing direct patient care.
• Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., reducing re‑admissions, avoidable days, adverse events).
• Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.

• Minimum Education:
  
  Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Licensure:
  Registered Nurse (RN) in a single state or RN‑Compact (multi‑state). All certifications must be current upon hire (ACLS, BLS, RN).
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS (or equivalent) within 180 days; BLS (or equivalent) upon hire.
• Minimum Experience:
  
  5 years of direct patient care experience.

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Proficiency in technology and basic computer skills to support clinical care.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative and customer service skills.
• Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure and respect.
• Excellent time‑management and critical‑thinking skills.
