Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence‑based practice, and research.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values.

Minimum Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- RN – Regular Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN Multi‑state Compact
- BLS – Basic Life Support, or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support, or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ARC‑ALS – American Red Cross Advanced Life Support, ACLS‑I – ACLS – Instructor, or ACLS‑P – ACLS – Provisional (within 180 Days)
- Less than 1 year completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
- Direct patient care experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Optimizes the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully
- Excellent time‑management skills and evidence‑based, analytical nursing practices
- Strong critical‑thinking skills
