The Wayne County Health Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full‑time, salaried position of PH Registered Nurse based in Jesup, GA. Under general supervision, provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols. Provide community health services in programs such as Women’s Health, Child Health, Adult Health, etc. to the general public. Assess clients’ conditions, develop plans of care, provide treatments, educate clients, and refer clients to agencies that can assist in meeting social and/or health needs. Record pertinent observations and responses to treatment.
Adhere to protocols set for vaccine administration and specimen collection, including appropriate patient identification, registration, preparation, and administration of vaccine, labeling, requisitioning, and specimen transport. Ensure all safety precautions, HIPAA requirements, and data entry are accurate and acknowledged. Administer vaccinations during designated events such as mass vaccination clinics or during declared emergencies. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire.
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- One year of experience as a registered professional nurse.
- Public health experience.
- Bilingual.
