Job Summary
The Business Development Manager, Higher Education is accountable for driving adoption of the Q‑SYS platform and ecosystem within the Higher Education vertical by performing as an individual contributor and championing the Q‑SYS solution set to key contacts within colleges and universities.

- Maintain consistent sales activity levels
- Identify and pursue opportunities for account growth and net new business
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of how higher education AV‑IT teams run their departments
- Learn and employ company workflows and protocols
- Understand common client use cases and applications
- Work well in all phases of the sales cycle (prospecting, client development, account management)
- Collaborate as a team player and share the company’s organizational values and goals
- Coachability and accountability
- Attend trade shows, interact with customers, and conduct post‑show follow‑up
- Drive attendance at technical training sessions and promote online learning for end customers
- Assist with occasional special projects
- Organize and conduct effective end‑customer meetings
- Maintain data integrity with Salesforce CRM
- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 5years of relevant personal selling experience in the AV‑IT industry
- Proven experience working with adjacent sales teams (consultant liaisons, strategic and channel)
- Ability to judge which prospects to pursue and allocate time effectively
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and sales‑management software (ERP/CRM)
- Consistent reporting and updates via CRM software
- Ability to travel at least 50%
The range for this position is $83,300.00 to $, based on experience and geographic location. Acuity offers generous benefits including health care, dental coverage, vision plans, 401(k) benefits, and commissions/incentive compensation depending on role.
