About the CompanyVinings Gallery is a full service fine art gallery and retail destination in Historic Roswell, Georgia, with two locations across the street from one another on Canton Street and a dedicated framing studio in Kennesaw. The gallery represents an established roster of working artists across painting, sculpture, and glass, and supports collectors through custom framing, in‑home consultations, delivery, and installation. Its rotating calendar of artist events draws a loyal following of collectors.
Open seven days a week — including evenings and weekends, when the district's restaurant crowds are busiest — Vinings Gallery pairs a warm, casual feel with a high‑touch, luxury client experience delivered by a close‑knit team.
Vinings Gallery is growing its sales team as a long‑time art consultant moves on to a new chapter and the gallery pursues new business, including deeper relationships with interior designers and architects. This is a highly visible, revenue‑driving role: successful art consultants build six‑figure annual sales and client relationships that compound for years, and top performers have sold over a million dollars.
The role offers real upside for a driven salesperson ready to build on that momentum.
The ideal candidate is a natural relationship‑builder with a competitive, entrepreneurial sales drive — someone who thrives on commission, follows up relentlessly, and turns first‑time visitors into loyal collectors. Luxury retail or hospitality sales experience is ideal; formal art background is not required, but genuine enthusiasm for art is required.
Key Responsibilities- Build genuine relationships with gallery visitors and convert them into long‑term collectors and repeat clients.
- Sell across the full range of gallery inventory, from entry‑level pieces to six‑figure fine art acquisitions.
- Proactively follow up with prospects and past clients by phone and in person to generate repeat and referral sales.
- Represent the gallery at monthly artist shows and special events, driving significant same‑weekend sales.
- Develop new business channels, including relationships with interior designers, architects, and referral partners.
- Support in‑home client consultations and installations, including occasional visits outside normal hours.
- Pitch in on daily gallery operations — receiving inventory, prepping installations, and keeping the gallery clean.
- Proven track record in commission‑based or high‑touch sales (e.g., luxury retail, hospitality, or similar).
- Able and willing to work a retail schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and required monthly show weekends.
- Confident, outgoing communicator who builds rapport quickly and is comfortable asking for the sale.
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds unassisted and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Genuine passion for the art world; prior gallery or art‑consulting experience is a plus but not required
- Existing network among designers, architects, or luxury clientele in the Atlanta area is a plus.
- No specific degree required; relevant sales experience and demonstrated results matter more than formal education.
- Competitive Drive - Motivated by commission and personal sales goals, not just a steady paycheck.
- Relationship Builder - Remembers names, follows up, and turns transactions into lasting client relationships.
- Team Player - Pitches in on inventory, deliveries, and daily tasks beyond the sales floor.
- Resilient - Stays consistent through slower months, trusting the pipeline will pay off.
- Culturally Curious - Genuinely interested in art, artists, and the stories behind each piece.
The vibe is casual luxury — in the walkable, restaurant‑lined heart of Historic Roswell. The small team works closely together, covering the sales floor, events, and operations as needed, and several of the gallery's top performers came from retail or hospitality backgrounds rather than the art world. Leadership is hands‑on and invested in each person's success, with a strong bias toward hiring for personality, drive, and fit over pedigree or a college degree.
Vinings Gallery offers a monthly draw against commission, plus 401(k), paid holidays, PTO, and partial employer‑paid health insurance.
