R2T, Inc. is accepting applications for an Ecologist for the position of GDOT Ecologist to join our growing Environmental group in Atlanta, GA area.

Ecological Services. R2T staff have performed a wide variety of projects within various regions of the U.S. Specific experience includes: performing detailed field studies including wetland delineations and protected species surveys; preparing environmental documents for project compliance with NEPA and Endangered Species Act (ESA); preparing ecology documents in accordance with the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). requirements; conducting and facilitating agency consultations including ESA Section 7;
and preparing Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404/401 permit applications and Georgia Environmental l Protection Division (GEPD) Stream Buffer Variance (SBV) applications.
Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conducts quality assurance reviews of documents related to compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA), environmental permitting, tracking the status of environmental tasks to ensure adherence to baseline schedules, and updating GDOT databases.
- Maintain a complete project file including, but not limited to, field notes, draft and approved reports and documents, transmittals, correspondence, e-mails, meeting notes, permits, and variances.
- Coordinate with appropriate GDOT offices, state and federal agencies, as needed.
- Provide other professional services as identified by GDOT related to the support of environmental services.
- Assist with public involvement activities as required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years related work experience (in most cases).
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely with written and verbal communication.
- Team player, a professional who is eager to collaborate and communicate with project team members. Must have ability to interface with other disciplines and employees.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation to be determined based on applicant qualifications.
