Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Electrician, Low Voltage to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. Position Summary

The Electrical Journey-Level position requires a well‑rounded, highly trained, and experienced individual, typically with a formal apprenticeship program and on‑the‑job experience.

General duties include the installation, service, and repair of electrical equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Tasks: replace defective circuit breakers, switches, fuses, and other electrical wiring devices; apply knowledge of electrical theory in analyzing and troubleshooting electrical systems or equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, motor controllers, circuit breakers, and conduit systems.

Follow blueprints, drawings, or other relevant engineering specifications.

Use a variety of electrician’s hand tools and testing and measurement instruments.

Install conduit using threading, cutting, and bending equipment and tools.

May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certification from an accredited technical school's Electrical Maintenance level 2 program.
  • Completion of an approved/certified apprenticeship program with a minimum of three years working in the industrial electrical field.
  • Minimum of two years verifiable experience as a journey‑level electrician in the field of commercial and industrial plant electrical maintenance working with systems of 600 VAC and below.
  • Proven ability to read and comprehend electrical blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use electrical testing instruments.
  • Proven troubleshooting ability, using a systematic approach for the repair of AC and DC electrical control systems including motors, motor controls, transformers, switch gear, electrical panels, and associated equipment.
  • Strong background in control wiring and troubleshooting and basic knowledge of high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret NEC Table 310.16 (wire size and conduit fill requirements) as reproduced in the Ugly's manual and install as necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical designs, prepare and report on electrical project status and complete as‑builts.
  • Capable of working at heights with mechanical lifting devices (man lifts) up to 300 feet.
  • Capable of obtaining a license to operate mechanical lifting devices up to and including 132 feet.
  • CPR certified.
  • Wearing hard‑toed safety shoes meeting ASTM F2413‑05 standards at all times.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Standard tools of the trade.
  • The successful candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is required.
  • Strongly preferred: AMMO‑29 Certification (Electrical Explosive Safety for Naval Facilities).

Pay Premiums & Compensation Add-ons

Shift Differential :
Extra $1.75–$2.00/hour depending on shift start time.

Hazard Pay : $3.00/hour for designated high‑risk work areas.

Lead Pay :
Additional $2.25/hour for lead roles (temporary or permanent).

On‑Call Pay :
Two hours of overtime pay per day when on call during off‑days/holidays.

Safety & Equipment Benefits

Safety Shoes : $175 annual allowance.

Prescription Safety Glasses :
Up to $250 annually (per policy).

Other Coverage
  • Includes provisions for overtime, safety requirements, and additional contract‑based benefits.
