high school diploma with vocational training required; supplemented by five years of experience in carpentry, electrical wiring, hvac, electronic systems, plumbing, welding, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. performs routine plumbing-related facility maintenance tasks daily. Oversees work progress and inspects completed assignments to ensure quality and compliance. Collaborates with team members to resolve complex issues and offers technical guidance as needed. Supports training efforts by instructing staff on operational procedures and proper equipment usage. Contributes to supervisory functions by reporting personnel concerns and offering input on disciplinary actions and performance evaluations.

Installs, secures, and tests plumbing equipment to confirm proper functionality, then communicates results to the trades supervisor. Serves as acting trades supervisor during their absence.

the purpose of this classification is to lead a team of skilled trades workers performing day-to-day maintenance of county buildings and facilities.
