Career Systems Development Corporation Careers seeks a Residential Advisor to support young adults living on a Job Corps center. In this role, you will supervise and mentor students in the dorms, promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential community, and reinforce program rules and expectations. You will lead life-skills and self-sufficiency activities, conduct room checks and safety inspections, document incidents, and collaborate closely with instructional and counseling staff.

This position is hands-on, shift-based, and ideal for individuals passionate about youth development and education in a structured setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to residential students in a Job Corps center
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive living environment aligned with CSD policies
  • Monitor student conduct, enforce rules, and document incidents and progress notes
  • Lead life-skills, self-sufficiency, and behavior management activities
  • Conduct room checks, headcounts, and safety inspections of residential areas
  • Respond to emergencies, conflicts, and crises using approved de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborate with instructional, counseling, and career staff to support student goals
  • Communicate expectations, provide coaching, and model professional behavior for students
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports in accordance with program standards
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and shift handoffs to ensure consistent student support
