Auxiliary Operator

Job Summary

The Auxiliary Operator supports the safe and reliable operation of a combined cycle power plant, with exposure to Mitsubishi and GE turbine equipment. This role works with the Control Room Operator and Maintenance team during normal operations, startups, shutdowns, and outages.

• Perform plant rounds and monitor combined cycle and balance-of-plant systems (HRSG, pumps, valves, cooling water, auxiliaries)
• Record operating data and report alarms or abnormal conditions
• Assist with equipment lineups, startups, and shutdowns
• Support water treatment systems and general plant operations
• Follow safety procedures, including LOTO and permit requirements
• Assist maintenance and outage activities as needed

• High school diploma or GED
• Combined cycle power plant experience required
• Experience supporting GE and/or Mitsubishi turbine-generators preferred
• Familiarity with HRSG, water treatment, and balance-of-plant systems
• Basic mechanical knowledge and strong safety mindset
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
