Job Overview

Cleared Gr8 Neutron Generator Production (Materials Coordinator), Onsite. We are seeking a Q Cleared Neutron Generator Production (Materials Coordinator).

Responsibilities
  • Instruct and provide guidance and assistance to lower graded personnel.
  • Perform a variety of different material logistic functions for parts, raw materials, chemicals, and equipment spare parts used in the production of neutron generators.
  • Perform duties in accordance with DOE QC-1 quality requirements, production policies, general policies and operating procedures.
  • Follow oral instructions and defined processes with minimal supervision to ensure inventory accuracy and quality integrity of weapon‑related material in bonded stores.
  • Use various computer systems and reports to control, monitor, and track material movement.
  • Act in accordance with documented corporate and internal procedures when handling classified, radiological, explosives, chemical, hazardous, and precious materials.
  • Operate motor vehicle.
  • Exert physical effort of 21‑60 pounds frequently.
  • As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay monthly membership dues or agency fee.
Essential Functions

Demonstrate fitness to perform certain physical aspects of the position, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Qualifications – Required
  • DOE Q security clearance or equivalent active clearance with another U.S. government agency.
  • Motor vehicle operation.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull as described.
  • Knowledge of handling classified, radiological, explosive, chemical, hazardous, and precious materials.
Qualifications – Desired
  • Work in a safe and effective manner, wearing appropriate safety equipment.
  • Successfully manage and complete multiple, simultaneous tasks, prioritize work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain quality work performance.
  • Work independently and as part of a team while building and managing effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle interpersonal conflict in a professional manner.
  • Follow instructions, verbal and written, with strict attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Count parts accurately.
  • Investigate and resolve problems independently.
  • Self‑motivate and take initiative to support the team's activities.
  • Assume ownership and responsibility of results, outcomes, activities, and performance.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel.
  • Use a computer to accurately execute any and all inventory transactions needed and use corporate IT resources (timesheets, WebCARS, TEDS, etc.).
  • Working knowledge and experience with Oracle, or other inventory planning system (e.g., SAP).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working experience in a warehouse/logistics role.
  • Experience operating a forklift, specifically a stand‑up type.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or similar qualification.
Security Clearance Requirements

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency. Sandia is required to conduct a pre‑employment drug test and background review. Applicants must be able to maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship, your ability to obtain a clearance may be impacted.
