Forklift Operator

Leprino, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our team located in Roswell, NM.

• Stage and load outgoing cheese, processing and whey products.
• Supply Cheese, Processing and Whey Departments with packaging and other supplies as needed.
• Place finished products in respective warehouse pallet racks (freezer/cooler/dry warehouse).
• Perform general cleaning of freezer, cooler and warehouse.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Forepersons and Supervisors.
• Ability to properly and safely operate a forklift.
• Candidates must possess good communication skills.
• Have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in freezer
  -10 degrees Fahrenheit.

Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $22.48 and $24.42. A night shift premium of $1.25 per hour is added for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM.

• Ability to perform essential job functions safely.
• One-year prior manufacturing experience and at least one year of forklift operation experience.
• Experience operating a standup forklift preferred.
• Possess or have the ability to possess Class “A” License.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Must be able to work Sunday – Saturday, off‑shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24‑hour/7‑day operation.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 12.5 hours.
• Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy.

• Good communication skills; able to read, write and speak English; perform intermediate mathematical calculations; maintain accurate records.
• Good time management skills; ability to work independently without direct supervision; interpret data and make necessary decisions.

• Exposure to ambient temperatures; wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature.
• Specific vision required, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and ability to read computer screens for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must bend, squat, reach, and climb upstairs/ladders; stand and walk throughout the shift.
