Travel Med Surg RN - Nights
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend. Floating and call required, but rarely needed.
Job Description
The travel Med Surg RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a general medical-surgical unit. The role includes managing post-operative orthopedic, general surgery patients, and occasionally floating to the ICU to care for medical-surgical overflow or step-down patients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, including medication administration and patient assessments.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems (Cerner, Mindray Telemetry).
- Must possess a valid RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience is required.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
- Fingerprinting for all New Mexico travelers is required.
