Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking an experienced, motivated, and resident-focused Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our clinical leadership team.
The ADON is a key nursing leader responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) with the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services throughout the facility. This position provides daily clinical leadership while supporting nursing operations, staffing, regulatory compliance, employee development, quality improvement, and resident-centered care.
The ADON should be a highly visible and engaged leader who is comfortable working directly with nursing staff, residents, families, providers, and members of the interdisciplinary team. Clinical Leadership & Nursing Operations
- Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily management and oversight of nursing services
- Provide visible clinical leadership throughout the facility and regularly round on nursing units
- Monitor resident care and nursing practices to ensure established standards of care are maintained
- Support consistent nursing operations across shifts, units, weekends, and changing resident needs
- Serve as a clinical resource for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel
- Assist nursing staff with complex resident‑care situations and changes in condition
- Promote timely communication with physicians/providers, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and significant changes in condition as appropriate
- Assist with emergency response and clinical decision‑making when necessary
- Assume nursing leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing as assigned
- Assist with evaluating nursing staffing levels based on resident census, acuity, and facility needs
- Work collaboratively with nursing leadership and scheduling personnel to maintain appropriate coverage
- Identify staffing gaps and assist with developing timely solutions
- Support efforts to minimize unnecessary overtime and agency utilization while maintaining appropriate resident care
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and retaining nursing employees
- Participate in nursing orientation and ensure new employees receive appropriate clinical support
- Provide coaching, counseling, and performance feedback to nursing staff
- Assist with attendance, performance, and accountability concerns in collaboration with the DON and Human Resources
