JOB DESCRIPTIONDeb for New Mexico is seeking a Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will report to the Research Director and will aid in both short and long term research projects.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional writing skills
- Curiosity and critical thinking skills
- Ability to receive and implement feedback
- Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
- Prior experience conducting campaign-style research is a plus, but candidates with backgrounds in academic or policy research with an interest in campaigns are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities:
- Conduct self and opposition research using public records, news clips, campaign finance reports, travel records, disclosures, and research databases
- Conduct vetting as needed
- Maintain and update ongoing research, including clips books, calendars, and records logs
- Monitor media for developments in the Governor’s race
- Assist with research tracking program
- Other research duties as assigned
The salary band for this position is $4,500 - $5,000/month. The campaign offers full healthcare coverage.
This position is based in Albuquerque, NM. The tentative start date for the role is June 22, 2026.
