Lead Radiochemist

An innovative radiopharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced Lead Radiochemist to lead its radiochemistry organization and drive R&D programs supporting the development of next-generation radiopharmaceuticals. This role will provide scientific leadership, oversee key research initiatives, and manage relationships with isotope suppliers, CROs, CMOs, and other strategic partners.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the radiochemistry organization and provide technical leadership across R&D programs.
• Develop and optimize radio chemical processes, isotope purification, and radiolabeling methods.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to support product development and technology transfer.
• Manage external vendors, isotope suppliers, and research partners.
• Mentor scientists and help build a high-performing radiochemistry team.
• Ensure laboratory operations meet radiation safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Radiochemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in radiochemistry or radiopharmaceutical development.
• Experience leading technical programs and cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of radio metal chemistry and radio chemical process development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Lutetium-177 (Lu-177) or other therapeutic radiometals.
• Hands-on experience performing radio chemical separations of lanthanides
  .
• Experience working with CROs, CMOs, and isotope suppliers.
• Familiarity with GMP manufacturing and analytical techniques such as HPLC and gamma spectroscopy.
