Structured Cabling Foreman

Mortenson is currently seeking a Structured Cabling Foreman that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems and will provide oversight to craft team members.

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
• Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
• Repair and maintain high voltage systems.
• Organize work by receiving and studying work orders and gathering required tools and supplies.
• Read prints, layout work, and install new service.
• Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components.
• Maintain electrical systems by conducting system tests and completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Keep supplies ready by placing orders.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with codes.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance.
• Effectively work and build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma.
• Apprentice aptitude test.
• Union specific training.
• Project specific/Mortenson training.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to speak and understand English (Spanish is a plus); some ability to read plans; emotional intelligence; ability to operate equipment such as table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems.
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs. Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
