Description
Chance Materials, LLC, sister company to J&H Services, Inc., is seeking a reliable and safety-oriented CDL Driver to transport ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and construction materials to customer job sites. The CDL Driver plays a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service, vehicle safety, and compliance with all DOT regulations.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Safely operate ready-mix concrete trucks, dump trucks, and other commercial vehicles as assigned.
- Deliver concrete, aggregates, and construction materials to customer job sites in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle inspection reports.
- Maintain accurate delivery tickets, driver logs, and other required documentation.
- Monitor concrete consistency and quality during transport and delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, customers, and job site personnel.
- Safely maneuver vehicles in construction zones, residential areas, and confined job sites.
- Clean and maintain assigned vehicles, including daily washout procedures for mixer trucks.
- Report vehicle maintenance concerns and equipment issues promptly.
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Assist with plant operations and yard maintenance when delivery demands are low.
- Provide professional customer service and represent the company positively at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL required.
- Current DOT Medical Certificate required.
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Previous ready-mix, aggregate, dump truck, or construction material hauling experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety standards.
- Ability to operate manual transmissions (if applicable).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to climb ladders and access truck components safely.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times daily.
