Multi-skilled Operative –

Pontefract, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and surrounding areas –

Contract:

Full Time Permanent – Salary up to £33,727 per annum, plus company van & fuel card –

Hours:

42.5 per week (8-5 Monday‑Friday).

• Carry out day‑to‑day responsive repairs across void social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, internal door frames and internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good damaged walls or ceilings.
• Complete wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing.
• Paint and decorate to a professional finish following repair work.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Work in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs and privacy.
• Participate in the out‑of‑hours emergency repair rota on a rotational basis.
• Attend training sessions when required.
• Report any further works, safeguarding concerns or property issues beyond scope.
• Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents’ homes.
• Accurately record job details, materials used and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order.
• Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets.

• Proven experience in repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Entitlement to work within the UK (no visa sponsorship).
